Strathearn district tartan has a very distinguished history! Designed in 1890, it is said to be worn by Queen Victoria's father H.R.H. Edward, the Duke of Kent, who was also the the Duke of Strathearn. Now, it is also worn by Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William's wife, who is also known as the Countess of Strathearn in Scotland.
