RCMP Tartan Gents Long Tie
This RCMP tartan gents long tie is made with beautiful 100% wool fabric woven by Lochcarron of Scotland. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police tartan was designed in 1998 by Mrs. Violet Holmes of Burnaby, BC to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Force.
The colours of the tartan are represented by:
DARK BLUE for the colour of the breeches worn by the regular members, SCARLET for the world-renowned serge tunic, YELLOW for the cavalry stripes on the pants and forage cap, FOREST GREEN for the Maple Leaf, SIENNA BROWN for the bison and the western plains, WHITE for the lanyard worn with the ceremonial dress, strength and endurance and SKY BLUE for the background of the badge and the beret worn during United Nations peacekeeping.
